A 20-year-old man from Mombasa has been guilty of killing his 80-year-old grandmother and now the court has found out that he has a case to answer.
Abdulaziz Swaleh is accused of committing the gruesome act on Shariffa Ali Salim on 21st January 2023 in Old Town.
“A 20-year-old Mombasa man, who was charged with the gruesome murder of his 80 – year old grandmother, has been found with a case to answer.

Justice Hon. Anne Ong’ijo found Abdulaziz Swaleh guilty of murdering Shariffa Ali Salim in Old Town, on 21st January 2023.” said ODPP
A total of 15 witnesses were aligned by the prosecution side who convinced the court beyond reasonable doubt that it the accused who committed the act.
“In her ruling, Hon Ong’ijo ruled that 15 prosecution witnesses tendered evidence to the effect that the accused was the one who murdered his grandmother.
The judge noted that the prosecution led by PPC Nyawinda and PC Bernard Ngiri proved all the ingredients for the murder of the deceased. The defense hearing has been slated for 1 March 2024.” said ODPP
