A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after he was found guilty of defiling a 14-year-old girl in Baringo County.
The ruling was done at Kabarnet Law Courts after the prosecution team proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused committed the offence.

“On 9th of April 2024, at around 10:00 PM, the victim was at home with her younger siblings, who were asleep, when the defendant entered the premises. He threatened her with a knife before committing the act,” said prosecution.
A total of six witness who included the victim and medica reports were presented before the court to collaborate the whole incident as to how it happened.
While issuing the orders, magistrate Edwin Mulochi took note of the violent nature of the incident that also caused phycological problems to the young girl.
