Detectives have launched investigations into the death of a 55-year-old woman who was stabbed twice in the neck and her left breast chopped off.
The Sunday incident happened as the elderly woman was leaving church heading to her home.
Gatundu South police commander Jonathan Koech confirmed the incident saying that the intention of the murderer is not yet known and no suspect has been arrested so far.

It has since been established that the 55-year-old was living with her mother and that her body has been transferred to Gatundu hospital mortuary.
The news comes at a time when cases of women being killed under mysterious circumstances are on the rise as Kenyans demand action from the government to tame the vice.
As on Monday, two Nigerians linked to the gruesome murder of Rita Waeni, a 20-year-old JKUAT student was killed inside an Airbnb in Roysambu were arraigned in court.
William Ovie Opia and JohnBull Asibor were found in possession of a butcher knife, a hatchet, six mobile phone and three laptops during the raid.
It was also established that they were in the country illegally as William Ovie Opia was carrying an expired passport and his colleague claimed his was missing.
