Herbert Wigwe, the CEO of Access Bank Group has died in a helicopter crash in Southern California on Friday, an incident that was confirmed by authorities.
As at the time of the crash, six people were on board the helicopter at around 10 pm near Nipton, California as revealed by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration through a statement.
Confirming the news of Herbert was the director general of the World Trade Organization Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who took to X to mourn the Access Bank CEO.

“Terribly saddened by the news of the terrible loss of Herbert Wigwe, Group CEO Access Bank, his wife and son as well as Bimbo Ogunbanjo in a helicopter crash,” he said
As on Saturday, the incident as visited by the police says that no survivors have so been located. The helicopter which has been identified by FAA as a Eurocopter EC 13 is also under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
As at the time of the crash, the helicopter was heading to Las Vegas as confirmed by multiple reports.
