An Azerbaijan Airlines with dozen of passengers aboard has on Wednesday morning crashed near Kazakhstan’s Aktau Airport.
At the time of the time of the incident, the plane was flying from Baku to to Grozny in Russia when it was rerouted to Aktau due to fog in Grozny as confirmed by local media stations.

As at the time of the incident, the plane had 69 passengers onboard as confirmed by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations who said that 29 passengers had survived the crash.
Some of those taken to the hospital are reported to be in critical situation as investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Through a statement, the Transport Minister confirmed that the passengers comprised of 3737 Azerbaijani citizens, six from Kazakhstan, three from Kyrgyzstan and 16 from Russia.
The aircraft was a Embraer 190 model with registration number J2-8243.
