It was business unusual for residents of Mahigaini and Ngucue villages, Mwea dumped the body of a girl who was murdered outside the house of one of the two suspects.
The body of 16-year-old Purity Makena was found on Christmas Eve near Thiba River in Mwea-West Sub-County causing chaos among residents.
On Wednesday, the residents marched towards the house of one of the suspects before leaving the body of Purity on the doorsteps as they accused him of killing her.

It took the effort of police from Wang’uru Police Station and the Assistant Chief to calm the villagers down but they could not hear any of it. The police were forced to lobby teargas in the air to disperse them as they had become angrier.
According to Purity’s father John Muriuki, the suspects had left behind an important clue on her hands and that was their mobile number.
“Detectives contacted us after Purity’s sister received a call, and we learned the suspects had written her number on the girl’s hand,” he said
The villagers were angry at allegations that one of the suspects was involved in homosexuality and that he has caused many deaths in the area due to it.
Purity’s aunt Susan Muthoni also confirmed the same saying her niece was involved with one of the suspect and that she was not aware of his sexual orientation.
“I called the boy over an incident, and both he and his boss admitted to the relationship. We suspect this is why they killed her after she caught them,” she said
Property belonging to the suspects has since been destroyed by the villagers as confirmed by the Assistant Chief George Maina.
“The family relocated to Rogoi village in Murinduko Ward, but they were attacked along the way in Ngucue village, where some of their belongings were set on fire,” said Maina
Purity was however laid to rest in the afternoon.
