“Another doctor intern has tragically taken his own life this morning, a heartbreaking outcome of relentless workplace frustrations under a government that seems indifferent.

Four months of working over 36-hour shifts without pay can break even the strongest among us. Our hearts ache as the medical fraternity mourns for our younger brothers and sisters.

We shall not take this anymore !!” he said

This is not an isolated case as interns across the country called on the government to work on their payments are most of them have responsibilities and bills to pay.

The said doctor has since been identified as Dr. Francis Njuki of Thika Level 5 hospital who worked as a pharmacist at the same facility.

“A system that eats its Children. We have a president that galavants the country dishing millions but cannot pay healthcare workers for months How many more will we lose via suicide how many will be enough ?” said Dr, Branice Munyasa.
