Arsenal close gap against Liverpool after derby win

Arsenal came from behind to beat out of form Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium to close the gap against league leaders Liverpool.

Son opened the scoring for the visitors after his perfectly executed strike hit the legs of Thomas Partey and into the far left side of the net.

The Gunners responded from another set piece taken by Declan Rice who found Gabriel Maghales whose header levelled the two sides. The goal was however reviewed and declared a Solanke own goal.

Lisandro Trossard gave Mikel Arteta’s side the lead before half time when his strike hit the ground and going past the goalkeeper.

The win lifted Arsenal to second place with 43 points, four points behind Liverpool who still have a game at hand. The Reds were held on Tuesday by Nottingham Forest who sit third in the table with 41 points.
