Arsenal has issued a statement confirming that Gabriel Jesus suffered an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The confirmation follows extensive assessments, scans and specialist review conducted after the Sunday’s fixture against Manchester United.
“Further to being substituted during our match with Manchester United on Sunday, Gabriel Jesus has received extensive assessments, scans and specialist reviews which have confirmed that he has sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.” said Arsenal
The club confirmed that it is time for the Brazilian to start his recovery and rehabilitation programme as they promised to support him throughout the journey.
“Gabby will undergo surgery in the coming days and will soon begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme.
We will continue to keep everyone updated with Gabby’s recovery, with everyone at the club fully focused on supporting Gabby to ensure he is back to full fitness as soon as possible.” said Arsenal
Initial report by Mikel Arteta was that the striker had suffered a serious injury even though he called for patience to get the results.
