Jorginho was the only player who was the only change in the squad that has won two Premier League fixtures in a row replacing Trossard who started from the bench.
The host kicked off the clash on high intensity causing problems for the Newcastle defense as Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice had their shots blocked by Loris Karius who stood firm in his post.

A brilliant set piece from the Gunners saw Gabriel Magalhães header blocked by Tino Livramento but as he cleared it, it was sent over the line by Sven Botman giving Arsenal the lead.
Gabriel Martinelli who was picked by Jorginho had his cut back pass tapped in for the second goal by Kai Harvetz sending Mikel Arteta’s side ahead at the break.
In the second half, Newcastle brought the ball to Arsenal as they tried to pick up errors from the defense but their efforts were blocked by David Raya and some cleared just when they launched a counter attack.
Declan Rice found Jakub Kiwior who netted his first goal of the season. Bukayo Saka’s individual brilliance saw the England winger send the ball past helpless Karius for the fourth of the night.
Former Arsenal youngster Willock pulled one for the Magpies but the damage had already been done.
The win left Arsenal in third position, a point behind Manchester City and two behind league leaders Liverpool.
