Arsenal triumph against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu

Arsenal sealed their return to the Champions League by beating Real Madrid and advancing to the semi-final for the first time since 2009.

In what was a hot cotested clash, Real Madrid came to the clash with the determination to overturn a first leg three nill defeat against Arsenal in England.

The visitors won a penalty in the first which was blocked by Courtois thanks to his strong arm and attempt by Bukayo Saka to do a penanka on him.

Kylian Mbappe went down in the Arsenal box after he was challenged by Declan Rice before the referee blew the whistle for a penalty. After resistance from Declan Rice and review by VAR, the penalty was rejected and yellow card against Rice canceled.

In the second half, it was Arsenal who took the lead through Bukayo Saka who started a perfect pass and was returned to him by Nikel Merino before chipping it past Curtious.

The victory did not last long before Vinicious Jr pulled one for Carlo Ancelloti’s men thanks to a blunder by Saliba who failed to clear the ball.

At the end, Gabriel Martinelli silenced Santiago Bernebeu with the second of the night and automatic date with Paris Saint-germain in the semi-final.
