Azimio confirms arrest of Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya

Azimio has confirmed the arrest of former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya following anti-government protest held on Wednesday.

Confirming the news was former Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa who condemned the arrest by the government.

Wamalwa continued by accusing the government of establishing a killer police squad targeting Azimio supporters and leaders as was the case during the arrest of Mavoko MP Patrick Makau.

“A police killer squad has been formed to execute Azimio supporters & leaders. This squad receives command from a well organized ethnic formality. It was present in Mavoko yesterday. We are compiling cases of victims of acts of brutality,” said Wamalwa

Also speaking after the news was ODM party leader Raila Odinga who noted that the government can arrest all of them if they do wish but they should know that another Raila or Martha Karua will araise in the future.

The government has also been warned against organizing any attacks against Azimio principal Raila Odinga as it would spark the worst violence ever seen in the country.

This follows tweets from government leaders who have hinted at assassination plans against the former Prime Minister in order to end protest in the country.
