Azimio la Umoja through their lawyers are moving to court over the arrest of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Raila Odinga’s bodyguard Maurice Ogeta.
The lawyers led by Danstan Omari will file an application before the court to know the whereabouts of the two following their dramatic arrest on Tuesday and Wednesday.
“Azimio Lawyers led by Danstun Omari to file and Habeas Corpus application in court over the whereabouts of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Raila Odinga’s Private Security Maurice Ogeta,” said Seth Olale.
The news comes at a time when several MP’s allied to Azimio have had their security detail withdrawn by the government due to the planned Wednesday countrywide demonstration.
Some of the Legislators have also been arrested including Makadara MP George Aladwa whose whereabouts are yet to be known.
“Makadara MP George Aladwa was arrested last evening near Kilimani area moments after jetting into the City from Mombasa where he and other MPs from Nairobi had been attending a meeting with KeRRA. His whereabouts remain unknown,” said Communication Director Phillip Etale
Also arrested on Wednesday is Raila Odinga’s spokesperson Dennis Onyango whose house is alleged to have been raided by the police before driving away with him in two vehicles.
“Police have a few minutes ago raided the house of Raila Odinga’s spokesman Dennis Onyango along Mbagathi Way ransacked it, and arrested him. His son says they have driven off with him in two Subaru vehicles,” said Etale
