Azziad denies allegation of being part of the Olympics delegation

Tik Tok star Azziad Nasenya has come out to set the record straight over allegations that she part of the 2024 Olympics heading to France.

Taking on social media, Azziad termed the allegations false and that her involvement with the Ministry was when she appointed to be part of the Creatives Technical Committee of the Talanta Hela Council chaired, a Committee that was then disbanded.

“I am not part of the Kenya delegation to the Paris Olympics 2024. It is unfortunate that someone would come up with false allegations on such a matter. My involvement with the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports was centred around the Creatives Technical Committee of the Talanta Hela Council, headed by Daniel Ndambuki, AKA Churchill.

I was selected and mandated to represent the younger population in the Creatives Technical Committee. However, the committee was disbanded in June 2023. I’ve not involved myself since.” she said

Nasenya continued by clarifying her recent trip to Dubai saying that it was either sponsored by his family and her clients and never has it been paid by the government.

“I would also like to make it clear that my travel to Dubai and other places have been financed by myself, clients, or family, and never, as numerously claimed, by the Government of Kenya.

There were allegations that I travelled to Dubai using money meant to renovate a stadium. At the time, I was in Dubai recording content for the #VisitDubai campaign, a trip that was fully funded by the client. The receipts are on my socials-smart, so people can confirm instead of believing rumours.” she said

Despite the allegations, Nasenya affirmed her support to the Gen-Z movement demanding accountability from the government.

“As a Gen Z, I am proud of all that we have accomplished in addressing government accountability in the last few days. My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones while we fought for the future of our country,” she said

The statement follows public uproar directed towards now former CS Ababu Namwamba to reveal the names of those travelling to the Olympics and budget allocated.
