Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has undergone surgery in his brain in Sao Paulo to drain a bleed he sustained after falling down at his home back in October 2024.
The surgery on the 79-year-old President is reported to have been successful and currently in a stable condition at the intensive care unit (ICU) with the doctors set to give an update on his health.

On Monday, Lula underwent an MRI in Brasilia after suffering a headache before it was confirmed that he needed to undergo the surgery at the Sirio Libanes hospital.
In October Lula fell at his home where he sustained a brain hemorrhage and trauma with tests conducted at the time revealing that he was in a stable condition.
Following doctor’s advise, he was forced to cancel his planned trip to Russia for the BRICS meeting to discuss emerging markets.
