Manchester United suffered a major set back in the campaign against Brighton who ended their 31 game unbeaten run on Saturday evening.
Marcus Rashford gave the host hope very early in the clash but his effort was effortlessly blocked by Jason Steele before the Seagulls began taking control of the clash.
In the 20th minute, Simon Adingra pressed the ball up the field towards Adam Lallana who cleverly let the ball go past him and to Danny Welbeck who calmly clipped to the bottom of the net.

Rashford gave the host hope for an equalizer and a way back but his strike was blocked and came off the woodwork. He again set up for Hojlund whose goal was ruled for offside by the VAR.
In the second half, the Red Devils looked sure to turn things around but once again they were punished by Brighton when Pascal Groß went past Martinez to beat Onana for the second one in the clash.
João Pedro who came in as a substitute made it three when his clinical finish completely shuttered Manchester United fans forcing them to leave the pitch early.
Hannibal Mejbri pulled one for Erik Ten Hag from a distance but it was too little to late as they went down ending in 12th position with six points from five matches played. Brighton settled for fourth position with 12 points.
