Businesswoman Ann Njeri to appear before Energy committee

Businesswoman Ann Njeri is set to appear before the Energy Committee on Wednesday where she will shed light on the controversial Ksh 17 billion oil import.

Appearing before the Vincent Musyoka Musau-led committee, the MPs will seek to understand if the 100,00 metric ton consignment really belongs to her as claimed or to Galana company.

“Njeri is expected to apprise the committee on the ownership details of the consignment, country of origin and intended destination of the cargo amongst other concerns,” said the parliament.

Njeri has found herself between claims that the fuel belonging to her and that from Energy CS Davis Chirchir who claimed that the fuel belonging to Galana, a company involved in the G-to-G deal.

The revelation led to questions from former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who challenged the government to produced duly signed agreement between the government of Kenya and that of Saudi Arabia.

According to the former PM, the who deal is a scam meant to benefit a few leading to the withdrawal of Uganda from the existing Kenya oil deal.
