A case that had been filed at the High Court blocking the reopening of Hillside Endarasha Academy’s boarding wing has been withdrawn after parties reached an agreement.
The parties involved in the case are the The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) and the Elimu Bora Working Group who called for a comprehensive inspection of the school if it meets all the safety measures and that the pupils are offered psychosocial support.

They further accused the school management of moving with speed to reopen the institution after the deadly inferno claimed the lives of 21 students.
Nyeri High Court Justice Dennis Kizito granted the petitioners request prohibiting the reopening of the boarding wing until when the case is heard and determined.
It was now up to the school management to find a way as to how 98 girls and 97 boys will continue with their studies away from the school.
