A Catholic Priest of St. Peter’s Church in Ruai has been confirmed dead after he was found unconscious inside a hotel in Murang’a County.
43-year-old Fr. Joseph Kariuki Wanjiku is reported to have checked in the hotel in the company of a 32-year-old lady who has been confirmed to have been his girlfriend and colleague.

“One Joseph Kariuki Wanjiku a k/m/a aged 43yrs old, a Catholic priest at Archdiocese of Nairobi and a farmer at Mangu area checked in at the said hotel together with his girlfriend who also happens to be her colleague at the workplace in Ruai,” read the police report
The Saturday incident was reported to the hotel management by the lady who told them that the priest was dizzy and unconscious.
He was then rushed to Kenol hospital but unfortunately he was confirmed dead on arrival. His body has since been moved to to Mater Hospital mortuary in Nairobi pending autopsy.
“They then rushed him to Kenol hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival while still aboard his motor vehicle Toyota Harrier black in colour,” read the report
