It was business unusual at the Machakos County Assembly following chaos that forced Speaker Anne Kiusya to suspend the house sitting.
The Tuesday incident left three MCA’s nursing injuries as the police came in to offer protection at a time when the Speaker was locked in her chambers.
Several MCA’s opposed to Kiusya accused her of sneaking in motions, denying them funds and failing to complete projects that had been started by the former Speaker.
The executive arm of the Assembly has been accused of engineering her ouster with those aligned to the Speaker blocking a fresh attempt to bring in an impeachment motion against her.

“Nimeumizwa na vitu hata sijui tena mkutano watu walitembea nyuma yetu, nyuma yetu kidogo naskia nimegongwa na uko kwa mkutano…unalazimisha miswada iende kwa bunge yenye committee ya house business, tuko na members more than 10 and you rule and see it has to come.” said Matungulu West MCA Lucky Nzau
Three MCA’s sustained injuries during the commotion as the police stepped in to calm the situation by shooting rubber bullets in the room.
Governor Wavinya has been accused of having a hand in the wrangles by those in support of Speaker Anne Kiusya.
