Police in Nyamira have launched investigations after a 22-year-old Chuka university student died after he was thoroughly canned by his uncles.
The student identified as Brian Mogaka had been suspended by the university over alleged use of bhang.

According to his mother Teresa Mogaka, she reached out to her brother to discipline his son but they instead tied his hands and legs before caning him to death.
The uncles are reported to have confirmed his death before changing his clothes, lying him on the bed, planted cattle pesticide alongside him to conceal evidence before going missing.
The body of Brian was taken to Nyamira Teaching and Referral Hospital by the police who arrived at the scene on Tuesday night.
