A three judge bench has quashed a previous decision by National Assembly Speaker that Kenya Kwanza was the majority party in Parliament.
The court ruled that Azimio la Umoja was the majority party in the House and that the Speaker Moses Wetangula violated the constitution by issuing the declaration.

The ruling overturns the declaration made on October 6th 2022 and also revealed that the Speaker had wrongly assigned 14 Members of Parliament from various parties to Kenya Kwanza side.
In his ruling back in 2022, the Speaker declared Kenya Kwanza as the ruling party with 179 MPs against 157MPs from Azimio la Umoja. The court said that he had no legal basis for the reassignment of the legislators.
The Judges continued by saying that he failed to present any post election agreements to prove his decision.
