The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has suffered a major setback after the court declined to withdraw a Ksh 30 million graft case against former Kenya Pipeline Managing Director Charles Kiprotich Tanui and his co-accused.
Issuing the new orders, the Anti-corruption court noted that the graft case will continue to its conclusion.
The news follows new statements issued by the 25 witnesses lined up by the ODPP to testify against the three distancing them from the alleged corruption during his tenure as the Kenya Pipeline boss.

Tanui was charged over irregular payment of Ksh 30 million back in 2020 for the purchase of new transformers through a tender but using false documents. The payment was made but the transformers were never purchased in the first place.
The court on Friday noted that the ODPP has a behaviour of strategically sabotaging cases before the court thus wasting the precious time of the court.
