A Malindi court has nullified election victory of Magarini Member of Parliament (MP) Harrison Garama Kombe.
Issuing the verdict was Justice Alfred Mabeya who cited irregularities including stuffing and exchange of votes in the August 2022 elections thus the cause of the nullification.
Present during the court was Former Kilifi County Assembly Deputy Speaker Stanley Karisa Kenga who welcomed the verdict as he was the one who had challenged it in court claiming he had won the elections.

- 327kg of bhang stashed in a Toyota Prado recovered in Voi
Kenga extended his speech outside the court calling on his supporters to come out in large numbers when the by-election will be held.
He had contested under United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket and garnered 11,925 votes, 21 votes less than of Kombe who garnered 11,946 votes.
UDA through Philip Mbaji and Daniel Chiriba has called on Kenya Kwanza to rally behind one candidate who will represent the party. They called for the support of Stanley Karisa Kenga.
This is the second time that Kombe has had his results nullified. In 2002 he won the seat but the results were nullified in 2007 but won the seat again after a by-election was held.
He however lost the seat in 2007 to Senate Speaker Amason Kingi but reclaimed it in 2013. He again lost it to King’s brother Michael Thoya Kingi in 2017.
