A court case against Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago has failed to kick off as one of those accused is missing.
“Nakuru Court says it cannot commence criminal proceedings due to one accused person missing. Prosecution demands that the accused persons remain in custody,” said Brygettes Ngana.
Mandago has been charged alongside four others over a conspiracy to defraud Ksh 1.1 billion in the now famous Finland education scholarship scandal when he was the Governor of Uasin Gishu.

The Senator who was arrested on Wednesday was taken to Nakuru County after recording a statement over the scandal that has received backlash even from President William Ruto.
The Head of State noted that those accused must face the law and the money deposited towards the prrogramme must be returned as some parents sold their properties to educate their children.
