Water CS Alice Wahome has responded to critics over her commitment in the fight against corruption given her reluctance to suspend Athi River Water Works CEO Eng. Michael Thuita.
Through a statement, CS Wahome confirms receipt of a letter suspending the CEO over alleged corruption scandal and that of the CEO stepping down pending investigation.
As she exuded confidence in EACC to handle the matter, the CS insisted her stand on zero tolerance to corruption and commitment to adhere to the constitution on the matter and any other that will be brought before her.

“I confirm that I will uphold the rule of law and constitutionalism in handling this matter and any other that may be brought to my attention in the course of my duties as the Cabinet Secretary,” she said
According to CS Alice Wahome, she did not fail to cooperate with EACC and her decision not to suspend Eng. Michael Thuita did not in any way block the investigations.
“I have not in any way failed to cooperate with the EACC as alleged by mainstream media reports and the exercise of my discretion not to suspend Eng. Thuita, until the requested information is availed to me, did not prejudice investigations,” said the CS
