Interior CS Kithure Kindiki and the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum has ordered fresh assessment of all gas plants in the country.
Both CS Kindiki and Davis Chirchir have ordered the demolition of all illegal LPG sites in the country as a measure to prevent any future explosions like the recent one in Embakasi, Nairobi County.

Our teams will fully collaborate with other Government agencies to investigate this incident and prosecute any persons found in breach of the law.” read the statement
The statement further confirms the introduction of Government LPG growth strategy which aims at developing and accessing all gas plants in the country so as to ease accountability and traceability.
Also confirmed are stiff penalties for those who will be caught operating illegal gas plants in addition to enhancing public awareness to promote the safety of LPG.
