Roads and transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen has apologized after Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) was plunged with darkness.
Taking on social media, Murkomen noted that there is no reason why the airport is in darkness but promised to announce a decision tomorrow after meeting the leadership at the airport.

“I am really sorry for what has happened at JKIA with the blackout. There is no excuse worth reporting and there is no reason why our airport is in darkness. I will be announcing the decision we will make tomorrow 9am at JKIA after a meeting with the leadership of the airport. Once again I am sorry.” he said.
The news follows a power blackout across the country caused by system disturbance leading to the loss of bulk power supply as revealed by Kenya Power.
Hours later, KPLC noted that they have restored power at the busy airport and are working to restore power to the rest of the country.
