CS Muturi reveals NIS boss Noordin Haji abducted his son

Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Justin Muturi has on Tuesday evening lifted the lid on what really transpired leading to his son’s release.

Through a statement, Muturi reveals how his son was abducted and held by NIS boss Noordin Haji who released him upon intervention by President William Ruto.

Giving a blow to blow event on that day, the CS noted that his son Leslie was in the company of Embakasi West MP Mark Mwenje and Marangu Imanyara when he decided to attend a birthday party.

It was during his return back home that he abducted by unknown people. He immediately informed then Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome and Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo about the issued and vowed to look into it.

He then informed DCI boss Amin and NIS boss Noordin Haji but his calls went unanswered. The again informed the IG about the issue and all police posts were informed in suspicion that might have been a robbery case.

Muturi continued by revealing that he sent a WhatsApp message to President William Ruto but the message was not read. It was then that he was informed by an NIS officer that they are holding his son but attempts to reach Noordin Haji failed.

Disturbed by the issue Muturi went to State House and informed the President who was shocked by the incident before he called Haji. Haji confirmed holding Leslie and promised to release him within an hour.

“The President joked, asking why anyone would want to arrest a young person over the Gen Z demonstrations. He even mentioned that (MP Mwangi) Kiunjuri’s son and the sons of other officials had been involved in similar demonstrations.

Standing outside the pavilion, I heard the President ask Haji if he was holding my son, Noordin confirmed, that indeed he was holding my son and the President instructed him to release Leslie immediately. Noordin responded that Leslie would be released within an hour,” he said

True to his word, Haji released his son.
