The Democratic Party of Kenya, a party affiliated to CS Justin Muturi has confirmed its intention of leaving Kenya Kwanza coalition citing political differences.
Through a letter addressed to the Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu, the party noted that the political difference them and the coalition party were unreconcilable thus the need to withdraw.
The letter which was dated March, 7th 2025 and signed by the party’s Secretary General Dr. Jacob Haji was also copied to the United Democratic Alliance and Maendeleo Chap Chap.

The news comes at a time when the Public Service Cabinet Secretary launched an onslaught against the government over the recent wave of abductions and stalled projects in the country.
“The buck must stop somewhere, in this case, the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Mr. President, I call upon you to order an end to these abductions and extrajudicial killings, as you promised, and to establish an open inquiry into how these incidents have been occurring,” he said
This follows his son’s abduction, a case that has never been finalized despite issuing a statement. On matters projects, the CS noted the government behaviour of launching new projects leaving behind many others that need funding.
