“Firstly, we wish to clarify that the DCI categorically denies any association with the vehicle in question. The suggestion that a vehicle belonging to the DCI was involved in any alleged abduction is not only unfounded but also sensationalizes a sensitive issue that is currently under thorough investigation.” read the statement.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah noted that the vehicle in question during the abduction of Kibet Bull was from DCI after running the plates and given that it had some communication gadget on it.
“This Subaru Forester with registration number KCG 089A which on conducting a search on the NTSA website revealed that the reg. number is that of a Toyota Station Wagon came and parked across the road from our office block immediately after Kibet bull arrived at Taj Tower.
Kindly note the communication gadget mounted on the roof. It never left until Kibet bull left. Meanwhile the driver kept the engine running throughout. The 3 occupants of the vehicle never disembarked. Who uses Subaru vehicles with fake plate numbers in Kenya and has the audacity exhibited in this case?” said DCI
Pressure is currently mounting on the government to investigate the cases and work on solving the cases a promised earlier during the day.
