Detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) are now probing the alleged abduction of PAG Bishop Patrick Lihanda.
The Bishop is reported to have gone missing on Saturday evening after he left Nyang’ori PAG headquarters as he headed to Mbale town for another meeting.
Immediately after his mysterious disappearance, his driver received a distress message claiming his life was in danger. Attempts by the driver to reach him failed as his number could not be reached.

A report was immediately filed at Mbale Police Station and a quick check on his last location pointed at Mayoni.
His white Mercedes Benz was found packed at Shibale Trading Centre in Mumias with the headlights on. Inside was his Bible, diary and spectacles.
The news follows a long five year battle at the church involving two fractions who have since moved to court. At the same time, elections were scheduled to take place on October 1st at the Nyang’ori church headquarters.
