Death toll in Southern California wildfires rise to 24

At least 24 people are feared following the Southern California wildfires as confirmed by the coroner’s office as at Sunday night.

So far officials are suspecting eight death linked to Palisades fire with sixteen others linked to the Eaton fire. Only two have so far been confirmed as on Sunday night.

Maps have already been released to show the damage caused by the inferno. 5,316 structures from Palisades and over 7,000 structures destroyed from the Eaton fire.

“Field damage inspections are ongoing and will continue until every structure within the footprint of each fire is inspected. Initial aerial assessments estimate 5,316 structures for the Palisades Fire and over 7,000 structures destroyed from the Eaton Fire, CAL FIRE said Sunday night. ” said officials

Mobile shelters have not been spared either with string winds expected to hit the affected areas. Vegetation is expected to remain dry without any hope of rains.

At least 1,000 National Guards have been deployed to help contain the fire in Los Angeles area. The recent deployment now brings to 2,500 the number of National Guards deployed so far.
