DJ Joe Mfalme and six others to remain in custody for 14 days

Joseph Mwenda Munoru, popularly known as Dj Joe Mfalme and six others will remain in custody for 14 days to allow the police to complete their investigation.

This follows an application by the prosecution team to detain the suspects in the death of senior DCI officer Felix Kelian for 21 days was rejected by Chief Magistrate, Hon. M.W. Murage.

“The prosecution filed an application seeking to have the suspects detained for 21 days to allow the Investigating Officer to conclude the investigations into the murder of Felix Kelian, a DCI officer attached to the Dagoretti Directorate of Criminal Investigation office.

The Chief Magistrate, Hon. M.W. Murage, allowed the prosecution application to have Joseph Mwenda Munoru alias DJ Joe Mfalme, Allan Ochieng, Eric Kariuki Gathua, Simon Wambugu Wanjiru, Khadija Abdi Wako, Sammy Cheruyot Rotich and Agnes Kerubo Mogoi detained in custody for 14 days pending completion of the investigation.

DJ Joe Mfalme will be detained at Kabete Police Station, Allan Ochieng, Eric Kariuki Gathua, and Simon Wambugu Wanjiru at Muthangari Police Station, while Khadija Abdi Wako, Sammy Cheruyot Rotich and Agnes Kerubo Mogoi who are police officers, will be detained at Riruta Police Station.” said ODPP

The news comes barely a day after the DJ was arrested after it emerged that an altercation ensued between the officer and his team in Kikuyu leading to a fight. Kelian was admitted with abdominal pain, injuries that he succumbed to six days later.
