Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has denied demanding Ksh 8 billion to vacate his office and banging the table at President William Ruto.
The package and allegations have been tied to the reason behind his planned impeachment set to be table before the Parliament on Tuesday October 1st.
Gachagua is reported to have calculated the total votes cast from Mt. Kenya region multiplied by Ksh 4,000.

Speaking on Sunday during an radio interview, the Deputy President denied the allegations saying that his priority is serving Kenyans.
“I have no interest in any benefits or any money. If it is money I wanted, I would have been bought out by political opponents to part ways with President Ruto, but I am not greedy. I don’t have many needs; my children are grown up and my wife is a pastor… I do not put money first, Kenyans are my priority.” he said
National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah also confirmed the planned impeachment of the Deputy President and that he has appended his signature before the motion is table on Tuesday.
“As MP for Kikuyu, I have appended my signature to remove (Gachagua) from office. We must stop the sabotage of government from within,” he said
