Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now says that funds meant for El Nino will not be sent contrary to his statement that Ksh 10 billion has been disbursed.
Speaking on Tuesday in Mombasa, the Deputy President called out Governor Abdulswamad Nassir over improper drainage in the county as he told him to get to work to help those affected by the floods.
The statement was however denied by the Governor who together with his Siaya counterpart said that not even a shilling meant for the floods has been received so far.

On Wednesday DP Rigathi Gachagua told off governors complaining over the funds that they should use funds within their provision to aid their people.
“We are therefore a little bit shocked when we see governors complaining that they are yet to receive money for El Nino from the national government. Such money is not forthcoming.
They are expected to use emergency money within their financial provision and to re-allocate money within their budget to intervene for the people that they govern,” said the DP
Gachagua commended the work done in Busia, Mandera, Wajir, Kwale and Marsabit to deal with the disaster urging other counties to borrow a leaf from them.
