The Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP) has approved the prosecution of allies and staff of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The DPP who was satisfied with the evidence before him wrote to DCI boss Mohamed Amin to proceed and charge the accused with conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to section 393 of the Penal Code.
Renson Ingonga further called for investigation into allegations of money laundering and financial crimes and that the findings sent to him for review before issuing further direction.

“The Inquiry file was placed before the Director of Public Prosecutions for perusal and directions. Upon careful perusal, the DPP has directed that there is sufficient evidence to charge the suspects with the offence of conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to section 393 of the Penal Code,” said the DPP
Those charged include three of Deputy President’s staff, Embakasi North MP James Gakuyu and Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru.
They are further accused of being behind the June Gen-Z protests that paralyzed business and caused destruction of key government installations like the Parliament.
