Dr. Austin Omondi alias Ja Prado has been released hours after his abduction at Sikh Union Club where he was leading a blood donation drive.
Confirming his release was KMPDU Secretary General Dr. Davji Atella who condemned the actions of the government.
“Our colleague Dr. Austin Omondi has been released. We condemn in the strongest terms possible the impunity of this government the threats, intimidations and the act of fear mongering can not work.” he said

A few hours ago, the union issued a statement condemning the abduction and demanding his immediate release failure in which all private and public medical facilities will be closed down.
“We demand the immediate and unconditional release of Dr Austin Omondi. Should he not be safely returned by midnight, we will initiate the closure of all public and private medical services to locate our colleague.” read the statement.
Also leading in securing his release was LSK led by there President Faith Odhiambo who visited Parklands police station where they assisted the family to report the abduction of Austin.
“Just leaving parklands police station after assisting the family to record the abduction of Dr Austin Omondi JaPrado together with KMPDU and the medical fraternity. We demand the immediate release of Dr. Austin Omondi! We remain undeterred and will strive to fight for his release!” she said
