Uganda opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye has been kidnapped in Kenya and is currently being in a military jail in the city of Kampala.
Revealing the news was his wife Winnie Byanyima who said that her husband was kidnapped on Saturday after attending Martha Karua’s book launch in Nairobi before he was taken to Uganda.
According to the wife, his husband is not a soldier so why is he being held in a military jail in the first place?

“I request the govt of Uganda to release my husband Dr Kizza Besigye from where he is being held immediately. He was kidnapped last Saturday while he was in Nairobi for Hon Martha Karua’s book launch.
I am now reliably informed that he is in a military jail in Kampala. We his family and his lawyers demand to see him. He is not a soldier. Why is he being held in a military jail?” she said
Kenyans have also raised question on the safety of people in the country and why would the police from another feel free to cross the boarder and arrest their citizen.
“Kenya is not safe anymore for Ugandans ?? Please explain what is going on? We demand his release immediately!” said Herbert Yaweh
“But what’s wrong with Kenya? How can it accept such on its soil.. This has been happening for decades where Kenyan governments facilitate the arrest of asylum seekers and political opponents of the Museveni regime. Its high time Kenya gets called out.” said Walakira Moses
