Driver in President Ruto motorcade arrested over foreigner’s death

Police have arrested a driver in President William Ruto’s motorcade suspected to have hit and run a foreigner along Ngong Road on Thursday.

According to Citizen TV, the driver whose identity has not been revealed was arrested shortly after the incident but released on cash bail.

The vehicle believed to have been used was also towed to Kilimani Police Station where it will assist the police in there investigations.

The deceased has already been identified as 79-year-old Edgar Charles Frederick, a British national and his body has since been transferred to Lee Funeral Home.

Witnesses revealed that the deceased was at the time crossing the Adams Arcade when the he was run over by the vehicle.

The witnesses also claim that Edgar Charles Frederick clearly had a hearing problem as he could not hear the calls by the traffic police to stay clear from the road.

After the incident, the National Police Service confirmed that they have launched investigations into the incident.
