Residents of Nairobi and its environs on Tuesday night reported a shift of their properties with other confirming damages caused by an earthquake.
Ruaka, Lower Kabete, and Kangemi are some of the areas that confirmed the affects of the earthquake with some residents reported to have run off their houses in fear of their buildings collapsing.
A report from Volcano Discovery, a website that provides information on matters lithosphere could not provide the magnitude of the quake but confirmed that it occurred at 8:31pm.

“If confirmed, we can expect more accurate data to emerge in the next few minutes. The location, magnitude and time mentioned are indicative, based on our best-fit seismic model,” said Volcano Discovery.

According to Google, the earthquake was of a 4.2 magnitude and originated 38 kilometers from Nairobi.
