Eight officials from Isiolo County who had been arrested over Ksh 58 million graft charges have been released on Ksh 3 million each.
“Eight (8) former Isiolo County Officials, including 3 Chief Officers, charged today have denied 12 counts of corruption charges relating to Kes. 58,560,000 procurement fraud.” said EACC
The eight who appeared before Isiolo Chief Magistrate Lucy Mutai pleaded not guilty to the charges before they were released on Ksh 3 million bond each or an alternative of Ksh 400,000 cash bail.

“Appearing before Isiolo Chief Magistrate Lucy Mutai, the accused pleaded not guilty to various counts of wilful failure to comply with procurement laws, abuse of office and unlawful acquisition of public property.
They were, each, released on a bond of Kes.3 Million and a surety of a similar amount, or in the alternative Kes. 400,000 cash bail.” said EACC
The case will be mentioned on 6th February 2024 as a warrant of arrest was also issued against other suspects who are on the run.
“The matter will be mentioned on 6th February 2024. The Court issued warrants of arrest for suspects still on the run.” said EACC
