A manhunt has been launched by the police in search of eight prisoners who escaped a prison in Wundanyi on Saturday night.
The eight are reported to have first scaled up the roof of the prison, tempering with it before finding their way out of the facility.

The escapees have since been identified as Patrick Karisa, Erickson Mwachofi, Samuel Onyango, Alex Makezi, Edward Maighasho, Robert Mchungwa, Mwangemi Mwanyange and Joseph Kalama.
They were also serving time at the prison over rape and burglary but it is not clear how they made their way out of a highly guarded prison.
Police have since called out on members of the public to assist by sharing any information in regard to the escapees so as to get them re-arrested.
The last time a prisoner escaped Wundanyi prison was in 2018 when one prisoner escaped but was later re-arrested after three months.
