An Eldoret court has sentenced a 71-year-old man to life sentence after he was found guilty of defiling a 2-year-old child.
“An Eldoret court has sentenced Lucas Omusule, aged 71, to life imprisonment for the offence of defilement of a 2-year-old child contrary to Section 8(1) as read with Section 8(2) of the Sexual offences act.
The prosecution, led by Jamlick Muriithi, presented four witnesses, including a doctor who testified that the minor had suffered continuous defilement.

The court, after carefully considering the evidence, found the prosecution’s case to be convincingly proven beyond a reasonable doubt and thus convicted the accused.” said ODPP
It was revealed that the accused committed the act between May 2021 and June 4, 2022, the same period when he was sentenced to 40 years for a similar case.
“During the trial presided over by the Principal Magistrate, Honourable Christine Menya, it was revealed that the accused committed this terrible act between May 2021 and June 4, 2022.
Further, the accused had previously been convicted and serving a life sentence and another 40-year sentence over offences of defilement that he committed around the same time within Huruma estate in Eldoret.” said ODPP
