An Indian court is set to hear a lawsuit filed by billionaire Elon Musk’s social media company X which has accused the Indian government of censorship.
The lawsuit comes a month after X sued the government accusing them of taking down content after the launch of new website known as Sahyog.

They continued by accusing top ranking officials of blocking X thus violating India’s digital laws and that they would not be compelled to join Sahyog.
In response to the allegations, the Indian government noted that the website was necessary to block harmful online content. Other giant companies including Amazon, Google and Meta have all agreed to join Sahyong.
How the website works is that it sends notice to government officials about harmful content which is then reviewed before it is taken down. In the case of X, the social media company was requested to bring down hundreds of posts.
One of the posts requested to be removed was the recent crush in Delhi where 18 people died as they were heading to the world’s largest religious gathering dubbed the Kumbh Mela.
