Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has been released on Ksh 100,000 following his arrest over the ongoing anti-government protests.
Issuing the ruling was Magistrate Lukas Onyina who noted that the prosecution has provided no reason as to why the Legislator should be denied bail. Babu Owino had been arrested alongside six others.
The Magistrate continued by taking note that the prosecution had also failed to give sufficient reason as to how the accused would interfere with the investigation.
