Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe is on the verge of joining Fulham on permanent basis with the deal expected to be sealed this coming week.

Confirming his exit was Mikel Arteta who said that things are happening in the background between the two clubs.

The once promising Hale End stars has been struggling with injuries which have kept him on the bench and lack of regular play time despite patience from the club hoping for his quick recovery.
His exit will also welcome the signing of a new midfielder who remains a top secret within the club. It is Arteta and Edu’s mission at Arsenal to ensure an all round competitive squad ahead of the new season.
At the same time, Arteta has welcomed the fitness of Jurrien Timber especially after their 2-1 win against Manchester United in the US.
The Spaniard has termed Timbers as a new signing who missed last season due to a serious injury.
“He’s like a new signing for us, a big addition to the team,” he said. “Now he’s getting the rhythm because obviously he’s missed a lot of football in the last year or so,” he said.
