Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa has confirmed his exit from the Azimio Coalition.
Speaking during a KNEC meeting on Saturday. Euegene noted that DAP cannot find it tenable to be in an agreement with people who are not of like mind.
“We are saying as DAP-K that we cannot and we no longer find it tenable to continue being in a relationship with people who are no longer like-minded with us who have persistently aided and abetted Zakayo in reintroducing harsh taxes,” he said
- Use the same speed you used to impeach me to pass Coffee Bill, Gachagua
- Junet Mohamed fronted by ODM as Kithure Kindiki’s replacement
He continued by calling out leaders who have collaborated with the Kenya Kwanza government and others who supported the ouster of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
According to Eugene, he is not pleased with how some members of the Orange Democratic Movement are now working in the cabinet of President William Ruto supporting some of the tax measures that are hurting Kenyans.
“When John Mbadi brings those taxes, you will not say it is Ruto who has brought those taxes, you will say that Ruto has converted some of our colleagues in ODM to become Zakayos like him.” he said
Moving forward, DAP-K will be conducting grassroot campaigns and field candidates in all major positions from MCAs.
“The party has also said that with all our chairmen from all our 47 counties, we will go back to each of the 47 counties to start an aggressive recruitment drive to prepare our party for the next elections.
The DAP-K will be fielding candidates in all positions from MCA to MPs to Women Representatives to Governor to Senator to the President and yours truly has been given that honourous task of carrying the flag into the presidential race of August 10, 2027.” he said
