Meta has on Tuesday taken to X to confirm that Facebook and Instagram services are down worldwide.
“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” said Meta spokesperson Andy Stone.
The issue had first been confirmed by Downdetector.com, an outage tracking company that said that more than 300,000 outages were experienced by users of Facebook and over 40,000 cases were reported by Instagram users.
- KURA, KERRA and KENHA should be surrendered to the county gov’t, says Raila
- SHIF contributions will now start in July, says CS Nakhumicha
The issue was not only confirmed by the two social media accounts but also on WhatsApp where over 200 cases were reported by Downdetector.com.
On X, the outage issue was a topic of discussion drawing criticism as to how top Meta bosses used X to relay the message.
