Edoardo Bove of Fiorentina has undergone pharmacological sedation and hospitalised in intensive care as confirmed by the club.
This is after he lost consciousness in the middle of their clash with Inter Milan on Sunday forcing the game to be suspended.
“ACF and the Careggi University Hospital Company announce that the footballer Edoardo Bove, who was rescued on the pitch following a loss of consciousness during the match #FiorentinaInter , is currently under pharmacological sedation and hospitalised in intensive care.” read the statement

Speaking after the incident was the club’s President Rocco Commisso who confirmed that they are close to Bove;s family even though he is in the United States.
“Come on Edoardo, we are with you. You are a strong boy with a great character. We are close to the boy’s family in these moments” he said
“These are the words of the President of Fiorentina Rocco Commisso who, together with his wife Catherine and his family, is in constant contact with Florence from the United States to support Edoardo and his family.” said Fiorentina
Commisso continued by thanking the fans, clubs, supporters and the entire world of football for their support and sensitivity of the incident.
“Fiorentina and the Commisso family thank our fans, clubs, supporters and the entire world of football and sport for the closeness and sensitivity shown towards Edoardo Bove and his loved ones.” he said
After the incident, the match was immediately suspended.
